Hexamidine diisethionate (HD-100) is a broad-spectrum water-soluble cationic antimicrobial agent effective against bacteria, mold, and yeast. It can be used as a multi-effect preservative and a skin sterilizing agent. Moreover, it is widely used in the cosmetic industry because of its prominent anti-acne, oil control, anti-irritation, and anti-dandruff effects. HD-100 is quite safe compared with other antibacterial agents. In particular, it has an outstanding skin and mucous membrane tolerance.
